‘Downton Abbey’ season 6 spoilers: Jim Carter hints at specific events in series finale

DowntonWe feel like it is best to begin this “Downton Abbey” article with at least some sort of a spoiler warning. While everything we are reporting here is coming courtesy of a cast member, we feel like there may be a thing or two in here that not everyone is going to want to know.

What we are talking about here are some new comments that were made by series star Jim Carter (Mr. Carson) as a part of a new story with Event Magazine (per the Daily Mail), which encompass at least some of the ending of the show will be. It doesn’t really give away anything when to character plot-points, so we really do not consider this to be particularly terrible:

“We don’t finish on a climactic note. There are no explosions or charabancs going off cliff edges. All the servants are together in the hall. It is New Year’s Eve, it’s candlelit and there are Christmas decorations left over. It is dark and we quietly sing Auld Lang Syne.

“It is a nice, low-key, rather muted end to the thing. They said it was a wrap and we looked at each other and thought, ‘Oh, we’ve finished.'”

By the time that we make it to the end of season 6, all that we hope for Mr. Carson is that he has an opportunity to smile more. We has realized that it is possible for him to find love, but in general he may think that it is difficult for him to imagine a life beyond what he has. He has lived within a certain sphere for so long, it is almost impossible for him to recognize great change.
