‘The Muppets’ video: Pepe begs Clark Gregg for ‘Agents of SHIELD’ spoilers

We’ve been waiting oddly for some time to see a promo for “The Muppets” featuring someone from Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.” After all, so many other shows have gotten a chance to shine in these, and it really does feel at the moment like the promotional strategy for ABC is to throw as many opportunities for cross-promotion as possible into some of these promos.

Well, dreams clearly do come true, since the latest promo below features none other than series star Clark Gregg, and it is rather funny. The major premise of it is that Pepe repeatedly tries to get spoilers on everything from the Secret Warriors to Melinda May from Gregg, and is repeatedly rebuffed for one reason or another. However, our favorite moment of all here still has to come even before Pepe shows up, and we get the chance to see Fozzie Bear pronounce the name of the show by spelling out all of the letters of SHIELD. This is probably one of those things that we probably find infinitely more hilarious than everyone else.

We know that “The Muppets” itself is going to feature a variety of different appearances from various celebrities, so who knows? Maybe Gregg or someone else from the show could turn up at some point.

One thing that would give extra credence to such crossover possibilities is the fact that the two shows are getting set to share a night. “Agents of SHIELD” will premiere on ABC on Tuesday, September 29, one week after “The Muppets” starts its run.
