‘Celebrity Big Brother’: Tila Tequila apologizes for comments after removal from house

While it is fairly typical for “Celebrity Big Brother” to become embroiled in one form of controversy or another, typically it does not happen within a single day of filming for the new season.

Earlier this weekend, the headlines broke that former MTV reality star Tila Tequila had been booted from the show over some comments that she made all the way back in 2013 that were in sympathy with Hitler. Our response to this was shock, but mostly because Channel 5 somehow did not know about this before they hired her for the show. Many of her problems at that time were fairly well-documented; her comments were unacceptable, but they were things that really should have been known prior to her casting.

We were waiting to see what Tequila would say in response to her exit, and those comments came in the form of a statement that she later tweeted out:

“Back in 2013, I made a statement about Hitler not being a bad person and immediately realized soon after that I had made a terrible mistake that would ultimately come back to haunt me … During that time, I had been suffering from severe depression and drug addiction for many years prior to that. I also attempted to commit suicide in 2012 and overdosed on prescription pills. I wanted to die. I felt worthless and unloved as that pain continued to grow, causing me to further spiral out of control. [I am] deeply sorry for my irresponsible, reckless and selfish actions and I hope that everyone can forgive me for the pain that I may have caused.”

Tequila also said that she hopes for a second chance with the show at some point, and that she wants to be more of a role model now for her young daughter.

Do you think that Tila should be let back into the show?
