‘American Dad’ renewed on TBS through season 13
For everyone out there who still enjoys watching “American Dad,” know that TBS has no plans to get rid of the Seth MacFarlane series anytime soon. The cable network today confirmed on Thursday that they have ordered in total 44 more episodes of the show spread over two seasons, which will keep the series on the air until at least the end of season 13 in 2018.
Thirteen seasons is a tremendous run no matter how you slice it, and this is especially true given that you are talking here about a series that has always been somewhat under-the-radar for TBS from the very beginning. It continues to perform well in the ratings, and there is a devoted following of people out there who want to watch it. So long as the show has this, there is really no reason to worry about it going anywhere in the near future.
Of course, it’s still far too early to figure out just what sort of stories are going to be told here, but we haven’t really felt too huge of a difference for the series since it did make the move over to TBS after so many years at Fox. This is one of those great examples of a show that can have a great life even after its original network decided to ship it off.
If there are some other announcements that need to be made regarding “American Dad” over the course of the next several weeks, you better believe that we will have them for you here.
