‘The Muppets’ create another Kerry Washington cameo in latest promo

You have to love just how in-tune ABC appears to be when it comes to marketing for their upcoming TV adaptation of “The Muppets.” You’ve not only got beloved characters that you know very well already thanks to the history of the franchise, but then you add to that some other beloved faces that you see across other network shows.

The video below is not the first time that we’ve actually gotten a chance to see Kerry Washington working with the characters in order to promote the show. Yet, we really don’t mind that the cameo is a little less surprising here than it was the first time around. Maybe part of that is just because the ad does such a good job of putting Miss Piggy in Olivia Pope’s famed white hat, and having Kerry act somewhat annoyed by it.

The show itself, if you have not heard, is set to be a more adult adaptation of the Muppets that you’ve known for years. While it will still be safe entertainment for all audiences, it will give you a better sense of their personal lives and provide more behind-the-scenes jokes at Hollywood and the process of starting the show. We think of it as “The Muppet Show” meets “30 Rock” meets “The Office,” which is pretty great for us given that these are three of our favorite all-time shows.
