‘Chasing Life’ season 2, episode 7 reaction: Is Leo and April’s honeymoon over?

It was only a week ago on ABC Family’s “Chasing Life” that we had a chance to witness one of the happiest, most-heartfelt moments on TV courtesy of the “Chasing Life” wedding of Leo and April. It was sweet, it was romantic, and it proved that you don’t need to have a fancy wedding ceremony at a church in order to be happy.

Unfortunately, seeing so much of that happiness snatched away on tonight’s new episode was pretty devastating. After feeling guilty over not being able to have a proper honeymoon, April spent most of the episode planning out a proper Italian dinner with wine, food and great memories for them to share. Everything went wonderfully until the morning, when April woke up and realized that her husband was not breathing.

Is this the end of Leo? Based on the promo that we’ve already seen for the next episode of the show, it appears that he is gone. April is back now to some of the sadness and devastation that she previously faced in the series, and it comes at a time when he was just so full of hope. By far, the show did a good job of completely blindsiding us with this move, but it’s awfully cruel to do this to characters who were only married an episode beforehand. Why couldn’t she have this victory?

Sure, we could talk about Brenna trying to fit in at the LGBTQ club, since we know that this is an important storyline; it’s just difficult when so much was overshadowed by what happened in the closing minutes with Leo. We’re stunned, and it’s going to take some time to shake this one off.
