‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Who’s getting an adventure ahead with Merida?

There are a variety of interesting storylines coming up on “Once Upon a Time” season 5, and one of the most entertaining ones at the moment may be there for fans of Belle and a certain new arrival in Merida. You’ve come to know the character from Pixar’s “Brave,” and moving forward you may get a chance to know her in a new, very-awesome way.

Early buzz is strong that this character is going to be a whole lot of fun, and co-creator Adam Horowitz confirmed that a storyline is coming for Emilie de Ravin and Amy Manson’s characters in a new chat with TVLine:

“We’ve always wondered what would happen if Belle and Merida went on an adventure together… We hope you do, too, because it’s coming!”

To us, the majority of the excitement here stems from getting a chance to learn a thing or two more about what Belle is like now away from Rumpelstiltskin, which is something that the show did explore a little bit over the course of season 4. The main difference here is that this time around, it’s not going to be anywhere near as relationship-based.

Is Belle and Merida’s connection a result of something in the past? That’s possible, since if there is one thing we have very much learned about this show over the years, it is that they love to find little ways to connect characters.

The new season of “Once Upon a Time” is going to officially premiere on ABC come Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
