‘Downton Abbey’ series finale: Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael more attend wrap party

DowntonIt feels almost like “Downton Abbey” has been concluding its filming for several weeks now, judging from all of the various different events that we’ve seen some photos and other details about over time.

With all of this being said right now, we do feel at the moment like we are starting to really say goodbye to this show. Over the weekend, the ITV series held a huge wrap party at The Ivy, and many of the longtime stars were in attendance including Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Jim Carter, and others. There were some past stars of the show, as well, who turned up, but we’re not going to spoil anything here just in case they end up also appearing on the final episodes of the show. (If you really want to know, you can check out the Daily Mail. It’s nothing that scandalous.)

The wrap party is a way for the cast and crew to get together and reminisce one last time, which we figure is especially important for them given that there are really not too many opportunities to do that collectively on set, especially when the servants and some of the more upper-class characters tends to film in separate locations.

The final episodes of “Downton Abbey” will most likely begin airing on ITV in September; as for American viewers, you can expect these characters to turn up once again in January. Stay tuned for further updates.
