‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 premiere video: Watch ‘The Dark Swan’ clip shown at D23 Expo!

We teased yesterday that one of the only huge reveals at the “Once Upon a Time” panel at Disney’s D23 Expo was a sneak peek that they were showing of the opening of season 5. Now, you can see this same sneak peek below!

We’re not going to waste any time getting into the meat of the story here: Captain Hook now has the dagger! He makes the decision to pick it up mere moments after Emma disappeared in the evil puff of smoke, thinking that he would be able to use it in order to summon her to turn back up. Unfortunately, the problem here is that despite his efforts, nothing seems to be happening as a result.

Clearly, we forgot to read the page in the Book of Dark One rules that states clearly that the Dark One does not have to follow orders in the event that they are actually off in another world. Therefore, there is really not too much that Captain Hook can do in order to persuade Emma to come back. He’s just more or less stuck, hoping that he will be listened to when in reality nothing is happening.

This disappearance on the part of Emma could be what ends up starting the mission of many of the show’s characters to Camelot, where they will hopefully be able to track down Merlin. He’s one of the few people with a true understanding of the dagger, and may be able to turn things around.
