‘The Muppets’ feature Nathan Fillion, Kerry Washington, Patricia Heaton in new promos

With the premiere of “The Muppets” coming to ABC at the end of next month, the network is already doing just about everything that it can in order to prepare you for what to expect … at least in terms of the show’s tone. It’s going to be all about your beloved characters, while still very much tongue-in-cheek, funny, and heartfelt. It’s a grown-up version of characters you’ve probably went your whole lives watching.

Celebrity cameos have been important to this series ever since the days of “The Muppet Show,” and we imagine that is probably why it was pretty easy to get Nathan Fillion, Kerry Washington, and Patricia Heaton to make cameos in the three promos below (via Entertainment Weekly). It’s always an honor to work with these characters, and for ABC it of course makes sense given that these are all actors on their shows.

Here’s a quick summary of each one of these videos.

Fillion – The “Castle” star is distracting to Miss Piggy. Why is that? Let’s just say that she is fond of looking at him to the point of it being a distraction.

Washington – The “Scandal” leading lady is more interested in getting a selfie with Kermit the Frog than she really is hearing about some of his relationship issues with Miss Piggy.

Heaton – Finally, the matriarch from “The Middle” has the toughest task of all here in trying to understand what the famed Swedish Chef is talking about.
