‘Person of Interest’ season 5 spoilers: Sarah Shahi returning for majority of episodes
Great news for all who wondered if we were going to have to go the rest of “Person of Interest” without seeing Agent Shaw again: It is not going to be the case.
As confirmed to TVLine late Monday, Sarah Shahi is indeed coming back her famous role in a significant full-time capacity for the upcoming fifth season. Specifically, she is going to appear in “eight or nine” of the upcoming thirteen episodes. As for how in the world Shaw is coming back after the character was shot this past season, that is one of those great mysteries that will be so interesting to figure out.
Shahi had originally decided to take some time away from the series in order to help raise her young family, and it seems like she has found a great way to do that while also getting to appear on the show, as well. Given that there is no word yet as to whether or not season 5 will be the show’s last, this is also a great way to ensure that there is a little bit of closure for the Shaw character in the event there are no more stories to tell after this.
Now that we’ve said all of this, prepare to start rejoicing! The new season premieres at some point next year; unfortunately, that’s all we know for now. CBS may wait to see what their ratings are in the fall before making any firm decisions.
