‘Major Crimes’ season 4, episode 11 preview: Premiere date speculation for TNT drama
Tonight marks the summer finale for TNT’s “Major Crimes,” and of course that does lead to the all-important question now: Just how long of a wait are we going to have before the show comes back on the air?
The first thing that you really should be aware of when it comes to this show is the simple matter of episode count. While the last two seasons had 19 episodes, there are some reports out there saying that this one will have 18. That’s still a very good number for a cable show, and certain nothing to sneeze at. Now, we’re just waiting for the return date. The past couple of seasons have set a precedent for the show returning in late November, where it can do something that few other programs do: Air over the holiday season. We think personally that it is a smart idea: There are few other shows on, and you can take advantage of a lack of heavy competition.
Our guess would be that “Major Crimes” will return around November 23 or 30 (unless TNT decides to switch things around), and it will run through December and into the new year. Since neither Christmas nor New Year’s Eve falls on this particular day, there will be a little bit less to worry about when it comes to having to deal with a smaller holiday audience.
Of course, we will check back in tonight to see more of what happens on the summer finale. Come back later for a full review and some other coverage.
Update: We know now that November 2 is the return date! That’s a little bit earlier than usual, and an interesting move for the network to get in there before the holidays.
