‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ review: Joe Bailey as villain; Lauren Iaconetti as ‘mistress’
Tonight’s new episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” was certainly surprising to say the least. Going into this and all of the rumors about there being a big villain coming up on the show, we thought that it was going to be Joe Bailey. He had a harsh exit with Kaitlyn Bristowe, and we had Jonathan Holloway questioning whether or not he was using Juelia Kinney in order to get a rose.
Before we get to Joshua Albers, though, let’s start with how Ashley Iaconetti’s sister Lauren could star on the next season of “Mistresses”! Seriously, who goes on a reality show about love only to leave because she enjoys being someone else’s mistress? It’s one of the craziest things we’ve ever heard of, and yet at the same time it is for the most part in line with what we know about this show. There are just some crazy things that tend to happen here from time to time … but usually the word “mistress” is not bandied about. Lauren’s now gone, and yes it is strange that the rules about her and Ashley being a package deal are now gone.
Moving on … let’s talk Joshua, who spend some time with fan favorite Tenley Molzahn tonight, at least before he started going off to other people about using molly. Who is this guy? Why in the world would you openly talk about this on-camera? There are so many questions, and he is totally the wrong guy for Tenley. We defended him during Kaitlyn’s season! We don’t know what gives. When we saw Joshua and Tenley together later, he wasn’t really saying information that was any different; the problem was with the tone of the conversation was so much different. He felt so proud of his partying when Tenley wasn’t around.
As for Joe, it was a tale of two stories. From Jonathan’s standpoint, he felt he was using Juelia to get a rose and advance. However, Juelia really liked Joe, and he put effort into making her feel like it was mutual. Here’s the funny thing: Joe did turn out to be the villain we thought he would be! We just didn’t expect Joshua to be one, as well. Joe clearly wasn’t into her on the same level, and was mostly pretending. It’s interesting that they put in the conversations with producers, since they made him look so much worse.
Eventually the episode went back to old themes: Ashley really digs Jared Haibon, who seems to be more into Clare Crawley, who Mikey was into before he realized that he wasn’t into her. Sounds almost like high school. Everything ended with a Mikey vs. Clare fight, one that he was really to blame for since he didn’t pick up on the signals.
