‘Mistresses’ season 3, episode 8 review: Could Calista be a killer?
On this past episode of “Mistresses,” let’s just say that there was plenty of drama in the air thanks to the murder case of Luca. Not only that, but there were of course the wide array of other stories that were starting to get a little crazy.
Let’s start of course with the big one here: Questions as to whether or not Calista has some sort of disorder, or if she killed Luca and is using Joss as a pawn. Did she plan all of this? Something’s fishy, especially since she seems very willing to not help out her “friend” Joss, who is currently getting a whole lot of questions at the moment from the police. Joss is in our minds handling this pretty well, though, and at least she has the support of her other friends.
Given what some of these women are going through at the moment, this is especially nice. April is currently stuck in the middle between Blair and Lucy, and she probably doesn’t take Blair’s discipline towards her daughter nearly as seriously as she should. The heat of the romance may be clouding her feelings slightly. This is still a nice, realistic contrast to the other extremely-soapy storylines.
For example, the three-way relationship between Vivian, Alec, and Karen may be coming towards its end as it is starting to be clear why Vivian wants Karen around: She thinks that this may be the only real way to keep the marriage together. Still, she is clearly upset about the parameters being broken, and Karen and Alec getting together without her around.
There was also a decent amount of stuff for Marc to do in this episode, and we found most of it very entertaining … even if the murder case definitely seems at times to be over-the-top. Grade: B.
