‘The Bachelorette’ finale review: Did Kaitlyn Bristowe pick Shawn Booth or Nick Viall?
Tonight’s finale of “The Bachelorette” is more than likely going to be eventful at times, and then really bloated at others. Remember here that we do have THREE HOURS of content to fill in with this show! That is a lot of time to try to deal with two guys and one proposal. This article is going to be mostly all about the finale portion of the episode. We’ll get to the “After the Final Rose” later….
We’re going to review this episode live, so check back throughout the night for some more of our take on this madness.
Kaitlyn’s family – Her mom has clearly already made up on Nick Viall. Seemingly, she seems more than okay to judge him based on “why did you make love to me?”-gate from last season. Also, Kaitlyn telling her family about Dublin was a little … awkward. Not a great impression.
Of the parents, Nick eventually won the two over, which is no surprise since he is putting on his best behavior and nobody wants to look that terrible on TV. If we were her father, though, we’d be a little bit “vein popping out of our head” after learning that this guy went a little too far with Kaitlyn during a date. Shawn came off much better, to the point where Kaitlyn’s sister was practically begging her to pick Shawn.
Dates – This is “rinse and repeat” from every past season. Some romantic getaway, lots of sweet nothings, and then a gift at the end. The only truly awkward part of Nick’s time with her was when he told her he had a gift for her … in the bedroom. Nick’s favorite room, no?
At first, things with Shawn and Kaitlyn were incredibly awkward, as she was very clearly in her own head about everything with Nick and a proposal coming up. It did get better, and then we got to the typical date fluff that we are familiar with.
The rings – Hey, Shawn and Nick both got to meet Neil Lane this time around! This is a step up compared to where Nick got during Andi Dorfman’s season, and he proceeded to talk Neil’s ear off as a result of his new status.
The proposals – We go into further detail here, but know that she picked Shawn, and Nick was none too pleased about it. Yet, Nick actually came off decent save for that beard. It was romantic, Kaitlyn is engaged, and now it’s all over. As entertainment, this was mostly dull … but romantic at times.
