‘Falling Skies’ season 5 spoilers: Tom gets a different perspective
Through the vast majority of “Falling Skies” as a series, we have seen the majority of the world through the eyes of the war between Skitters, Espheni, and humans. It has been difficult, painful, and extremely dangerous for Tom and the rest of the 2nd Mass as they have been firmly on the battle lines.
But what about those who are not so front and center for the conflict? How are they living? This is something that the August 2 episode “Respite” is going to look to address, judging at least from the new synopsis below from TNT:
“Injured, Tom takes refuge with a unique family who has distanced themselves from the fight, giving him a glimpse of life without war. Hal and Isabella’s romance grows as they search for a missing Tom. Meanwhile, The 2nd Mass locates an Espheni device that could be a linchpin to winning the war… if they can figure out how to use it. And Maggie makes a decision that has consequences for her and the entire 2nd Mass.”
By the time we make it to the end of the episode, it is certainly possible that we could see Tom back front and center in the war. Not only that, but in the process he could have a completely new perspective to go along with it of what he is fighting for. We want to think of this episode as the calm before the storm, even if it is not entirely clear just yet what that storm is going to look like.
What we can tell you for now is that come tomorrow, we will be going even more in-depth in regards to what Tom’s next move is, and also whether or not Maggie is helping or hurting her other survivors.
