‘Masters of Sex’ season 3, episode 3 preview: Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, and a celebration
Are Masters and Johnson getting closer to a romantic relationship once again? For a brief moment on Sunday night’s new episode of “Masters of Sex,” it appears as though Michael Sheen’s character definitely wants to. The two are in the middle of what is a big celebration over their latest book, which is getting mass praise from the media, even to the point where some are lifting them up and condemning the work of Sigmund Freud at the same exact time.
What Bill realizes not long after trying to turn this celebration into something more, though, is that he cannot just flip the switch and have this affair return to the same place that it once was at. These two people have evolved in many significant ways. After what happened with Virginia and George, Masters made his decision to stay away; now, there are at least some consequences that come with that.
What we would remind you of here above all else, though, is that the actions that we are seeing with Virginia and Bill now in no way dictate their future. We know enough from history to know that their personal story is far from over, and the same goes for their professional one. They will be spending more time together than ever promoting the book, and dealing with business opportunities that come as a result of their success.
One of the biggest ones that arrives at their feet will come in this episode via Josh Charles’ character, a successful perfume salesman who wants to try to capture the scent of desire into an alluring fragrance. Given what we told you yesterday about Judy Greer’s character, it is fair to say that he will recur throughout the rest of the season.
