‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Vanessa and Jackie’s nominations

It took a long time in the “Big Brother” house Friday for Vanessa and Jackie to figure out what they wanted to do in terms of nominations, but we do feel like in the end, they really did get what they wanted out of this.

Vanessa put up the pair of Clay and Becky, knowing very well that they are very likely to win the Battle of the Block and allow Vanessa to be dethroned. From there, Jackie nominated Liz and James, and there has been talk about the latter trying to throw the next competition. Jackie can then put up either Steve or Austin depending on what happens with the Power of Veto. If for some reason Austin wins the Veto and takes down Liz, Steve goes up. Meanwhile, if Steve wins the Veto and doesn’t use it, Liz can go home. It’s a smart arrangement for themselves to decide who ends up going this week, and they ensure that one of their targets will pending future surprises in the game.

We also want to make another point right now: In the age of Battle of the Block, it may actually be a good thing be Head of Household once or twice. In doing so you get to make deals with people, and nobody seems to view you as too big of a threat. If Austin goes this week, he will be the first one-time HoH winner to go home. That’s pretty crazy four weeks into the game.

For now, Austin does not think that anyone other than Steve or James potentially is the target, so everyone has done their part keeping this quiet. What we’re really looking forward to this week is someone telling Liz / Julia what Austin said about wanting Julia gone early, that way he can be with Liz alone in jury. We don’t know why he’d rather be there than winning $500,000, but whatever.
