‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 7 review: Jason’s memories on Charles’ birthday
Given that graduation is coming for the women of “Pretty Little Liars,” you would think that now is the time they would be able to start thinking about the future for the change. Unfortunately what we saw on tonight’s “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” was that there is one barrier after another in the way for these ladies.
Let us begin here with the story of Hanna, who realized that while she had just received a prestigious scholarship, it was funded by money connected to the DiLaurentis family. The last thing she needed was to have money that was possibly tainted by everything that has happened with them. Meanwhile, Aria was having a hard time focusing on future projects, given the impending threats of Charles / “A” and Mike starting to get closer to Mona once again.
Ultimately, though, the most fascinating character of the night was Jason, and we started to get a deeper window into his soul during the episode. He had been lied to and manipulated for so many years, and was led to think that he was crazy for having memories of Charles.
The Ali / Charles / Jason story remains to us particularly fascinating, and may be the best part of the story right now given that we haven’t really become attached to Sara as a character yet to want to root for her with Emily. Meanwhile, we really have a hard time even keeping up with where Toby is the majority of the time these days given he tends to have more work issues and commitments than any man ever. Grade: B-.
