Miley Cyrus to host 2015 MTV Video Music Awards
Just in case you ever wondered even for a second that MTV hated what Miley Cyrus did at the VMAs a couple of years ago, here’s some evidence otherwise: The network has hired the singer and former “Hannah Montana” star to host their 2015 version of the show.
Miley confirmed the news herself in a post on Instagram, saying that the show is going to air on August 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. You have to believe that she is going to bring more controversy to the show, and the network may be courting that at a time when they are not getting a lot of attention otherwise. The network is missing that hit reality series that they have had in the past when the likes of “Teen Mom” and “Jersey Shore” were at their peak, and the MTV Movie Awards at this point hardly generate much in the way of discussion at all.
The VMAs are not always a show that even really has a host, but some past ones have not exactly gone well. The reason that Miley will probably be fine in the part, though, is because she already has experience around many of the other artists on the show; not only that, but she has done a lot of live comedy performing over the years. In the midst of all the craziness and the headlines, she actually was very good in stints on “Saturday Night Live.”
We imagine that we’ll have some more news when it comes to the VMAs as time passes. After all, we imagine that the network is going to confirm a line of performances at some point in the future.
