‘Big Brother 17’ review: Audrey vs. Jason (indirectly); did Johnny Mac throw the Battle of the Block?
Tonight’s “Big Brother 17” episode had a ton of ground to cover. Heck, we had a hard time remembering most of it just because of everything happening on the live feeds.
Let’s start here with the main issue of the night: Did Audrey make up some of the drama about Jason wanting to target Shelli and Clay? Sure, but she is not exactly wrong, either! We don’t know if they are his #1 and #2 targets, but he is not on their side. Audrey is not a great player; she puts her foot in her mouth far too often, and doesn’t know the meaning of “lay low.” However, she is reasonably on your side for now, whereas Jason is not and also is a part of another alliance with James and Meg. Targeting him is a pretty smart thing.
We’ll have more time later this week to probably talk about Shelli thinking too hard about this, mostly because Jason and Johnny Mac lost the Battle of the Block against Jackie and James. Let’s instead talk about some of the other good stuff on the night.
1. Still no great explanation on Steve’s hinky votes … but a scene of him failing to put together an ironing board.
2. The grunge-inspired Battle of the Block was pretty cool to look at, at least visually if nothing else. Also, great nineties pun and Clay’s hair!
3. Tonight’s cringe-worthy moments included Shelli getting an HoH letter from her dog (ugh), her referring to Clay using the word “poopy” (dougle ugh), and Austin still trying to make Judas happen.
4. Yes, they gave Jackie a ton of airtime tonight. We’re really not sure any of it matters. Grade: B.
