‘Ray Donovan’ season 3, episode 2 preview: Further insight into Katie Holmes’ Paige

Even before season 3 of “Ray Donovan” began, there was a whole lot of hype surrounding the addition of Katie Holmes as Paige. She’s a well-known actress coming back to TV, and she is a woman with a mysterious agenda and complicated relationship with both her father and Ray. We see some evidence of that in the sneak peek below.

We also get some evidence in here that Ray does not completely but into the operation he is being sent to do. He questions whether or not she thinks this is all fun and games, and then threatens to basically capture her unless he gets the money that he wants. This to us clearly shows how hardened he became after the events of last season, and how little he seems to think of Paige at the moment.

Luckily, we do still think that there is something more here with Paige that is not easy to detect just yet. One of the reasons we’re excited for this role for Holmes is because we feel like there is something so much deeper here with this character than what we have had a chance to see so far. The question is when that fire is going to really start to come out, and what it could do to Ray in the process.

After all, we do think Ray is somewhat vulnerable right now. He has a little tunnel vision when it comes to forces beyond himself, and if you hit him at the right time, he could be rattled in a pretty severe way.
