‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 11 reaction: Who from ‘Boy Meets World’ made surprise cameo?

Girl Meets World -You have to love how “Girl Meets World” are throwing in the surprise cameos from the “Boy Meets World” universe these days. In the past two weeks, we had a chance to see the return of Angela and then Tommy, who helped Eric Matthews feel more inspired in the midst of a political campaign.

Tonight, we saw the return of Anthony Tyler Queen as Mr. Turner, the former teacher of Cory and Topanga from high school, as the superintendent for the school district and also the man responsible for hiring Cory Matthews in the first place. He got involved after Cory and new teacher Harper got fired over her teaching plan, and his subsequent defense of it as her coming up with a creative way to teach something. These two ended up being reliant in a way on the students to show that what Harper was doing was working, and in true “Boy Meets World” fashion, the series did figure out a way to make that happen so that there would be a happy ending by the time we got to the credits.

We do also think that the series really needed in some ways a cameo tonight, mostly because the rest of the episode was somewhat by the numbers, even if we did like the Harper Lee references and they were surprisingly timely given recent news.

Also, let’s close by saying thanks to the show for giving a shout-out to Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, one of the best adaptations of the Batman character out there. It’s also been the inspiration for many other versions of the character since.
