‘Blindspot’ at Comic-Con: How long does it take to give Jaimie Alexander all those tattoos?
There is going to be a time (mark our words) when fans will clamor for journalists to stop asking the question above when it comes to NBC’s upcoming series “Blindspot.” However, we do not think that we have come to that point just yet. Therefore, we are happy to address this question now, just because it is interesting and was a part of the Comic-Con panel in San Diego today.
So how long does it really take? Alexander said it can run for around seven hours for the full application, and that she often listens to music or watches TV while part of the tattoos are applied. She claimed (per Deadline) that “there’s a fellow that has to paint my chest and that’s kind of awkward … [and then] there’s this portion below the belt on my backside that has to be hand-painted.”
While we’ve heard that Alexander likes to work in as much of the makeup as possible, we imagine that there will have to be a certain point eventually where they find a way to reduce this. Can you imagine working with all of this makeup on you every single day? That feels like a ton of work; one session to get all of the tattoos on is almost as long as someone’s standard work day.
New episodes of “Blindspot” are going to air Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern on NBC. In other words, this is a show that is going to have just about every opportunity to succeed that it possibly can given its lead-in of “The Voice.”
