Kristen Bell, Rob Thomas could team up for ‘Veronica Mars’ limited series
Great news if you are a fan of “Veronica Mars,” and even if you are not, isn’t it pretty easy to be happy for people who have followed this show for such a long time? After a feature film via Kickstarter and several seasons years ago, it is looking possible that the franchise could return at some point for a limited series … at least provided that Rob Thomas has his way.
Speaking per TVLine at Comic-Con to promote the upcoming second season of “iZombie,” the executive producer made it very clear that he has at least discussed the idea of continuing the franchise in some capacity with star Kristen Bell. As for whether or not it would actually happen, that is an entirely different story. They are open to a limited series, but these are extremely busy people! Bell is a regular over on “House of Lies,” while Thomas is currently running “iZombie.” It has hard to focus on doing more than one show full-time, unless you are Daniel Gillies (“The Originals,” “Saving Hope”) and managed for a couple of years to develop some sort of super-power.
Note that Thomas was just speculating here, so we don’t want to get your hopes up on some ridiculous level just yet. Just think of this as a possibility, and maybe something that The CW could consider down the road. We will personally keep our fingers crossed that something happens. The limited-series format is appealing, and this is something that this particular network has yet to really get involved with.
For now, remember that the new season of “iZombie” premieres this September on Tuesday nights.
