‘Girl Meets World’ season 2, episode 10 reaction: Eric Matthews and a Tommy surprise
Can Eric Matthews be a worthy politician? On tonight’s new episode of “Girl Meets World,” we found out what happens when he was more or less roped into a massive operation to run for New York Senate.
What was the major twist here? It was as simple as the notion of him being brought in mostly to make the other candidate look better. Eric was devastated at first, but then Riley and company tried to figure out some various ways to be make him shine. All it took from him was a passionate debate, and a favorable setting at John Quincy Adams school, in order to help make it happen. Also, the Senator he was up against was a heel.
The big point that Eric’s rival failed to understand is that the children are the future, and that while they are not able to vote right now, their voices do matter. The message throughout the episode was to make sure everyone feels like they are important and valued in our political system. Why not convince people while they are young that voting is necessary?
Now, let’s talk the big surprise of the night: Tommy! The “Boy Meets World” character, who Eric at one point treated like a little brother. While we imagine that this appearance may not have been that impactful for casual fans of the show, it was a tear-jerker for longtime viewers who remember this story well and Eric deciding that it was best to let Tommy go. We don’t know how Eric’s campaign will end, but Tommy wants to help.

Totally teared up! I didn’t recognize him at all and was completely surprised. What an awesome story line to follow up on. This was just so sweet!! I must admit, girl meets world is just horridly written at times and I find the over-the-top humor typical of Disney Channel hard to tolerate and find myself rolling my eyes a lot during the show…..but despite all that, I really enjoy the show and I think it really does justice to the original BMW in how its continuing the old story lines and bringing back old characters.

Glad I see others feel the same way as I did about this episode! Tears definitely ran down my face when it was revealed it was Tommy the one helping Eric. I am really liking GMW. I expected it to turn out as a lame new Disney show, but it is completely different. The best on Disney; loved BMW and love GMW.

As a guy, I didn’t cry. But for some reason, it got really dusty in my house around that time. Great episode.

I am loving the BMW alumni’s this season but this has been more heartwarming then I could of remembered. Tommy was probably forgotten and he got to live with a family.
I teared up remembering their relationship and loved how he came back in Eric’s life and the way he said Eric helped him he the person he is now.

I think any BMW fan that stayed with the show for the entire run would most likely comment they cried. What a huge surprise having Tommy (same actor too) come back as Tommy
