‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 3 spoilers: Boss on what lies ahead for Jake, Amy
From pretty early on in the first season of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” it felt as though the show was going to eventually build to a point where we saw Jake and Amy at least think about getting together. There was never any real deception when it came to that. Most of the drama instead was about for the most part how they were going to get to the point where they admitted to their feelings and then actually did something with it.
Going into the third season, we’ve finally at a position now where we’ve seen the two kiss, and not just because they are pretending for a case or something. However, them finally admitting this to themselves is a little bit different than them actually being together. According to executive producer Dan Goor (via Entertainment Weekly), the show will pick up almost immediately after the finale, and they will address this aftermath immediately:
“It may be a question [now] of how the relationship starts, or how well it starts or if it’s going to start.”
We do hope that at least some point by the end of the third season, the show at least thinks about just having them be a real item. There are still so many fun stories that can be born out of that, including how their work relationship changes and also what their friends and family thinks about it. This is made even more complicated by Jake’s frequent bouts of immaturity and Amy’s tendency to kiss up to Holt at work.
