MTV’s ‘Scream’ video: Watch Bella Torne in opening scene right now!

If you remember back to the original “Scream” series of movies, one of the major selling points was how the show managed to leverage the presence of some big-name stars in an attempt to get viewers hooked almost right away. When they killed of Drew Barrymore in the opening minutes of the film, it sent a message that the show was really willing to do anything.

So could the upcoming MTV series produce a fairly similar result with Bella Thorne in the lead role? We know that they are at least going to try! The sneak peek below gives you the opening scene of the show, and it is going to feel very much familiar. It’s extremely creepy, bloody, and almost a perfect homage to the original.

The only thing we don’t know about is whether or not this horror show is going to work across multiple episode, or if it is something that we really need. A long time has passed since the success of the original series, and that means that the culture and what we are looking forward when it comes to entertainment are extremely different.

The “Scream” TV series is going to be premiering on MTV come Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it will hopefully benefit from the success of its “Teen Wolf” lead-in. That show is consistently a huge ratings draw.
