‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn’s story in ‘Night Finds You’

“True Detective” season 2 kicked off on Sunday with a story that gave us a very complicated story full of ins and outs and all sorts of intrigue. However, it really did not do much to push the story forward until we made it pretty far into the episode. Judging from social media, we feel like reaction to the season so far is mixed. While we’ve got great performances from many of the cast, it was a little hard for the majority of the episode to figure out what was going on. We didn’t have the indicators like we do in season 1 to determine when certain events are taking place.

What we do at least have at the moment are the first details on “Night Finds You,” the show’s second episode that is hopefully going to continue weaving a complicated story. The short synopsis below comes via TV Guide:

“Ben Caspar’s autopsy reveals the gruesome details of his demise, and Ray and Ani wonder if it has anything to do with his fondness for prostitutes. Meanwhile, Frank looks into what might have happened to his missing fortune.”

The end of tonight’s episode brought us some of the first details when it comes to Ben’s death, and also the first meeting on the show between our three police officers: Paul (Taylor Kitsch), Ani (Rachel McAdams), and Ray (Colin Farrell). As for how these three different people all balance their personalities and their skills, this will be one of the real cruxes of the entire story.
