‘Ink Master’ season 6 premiere video: The masters and apprentices prepare for battle

Tuesday night, “Ink Master” is going to return with a flourish, a few surprises, and also a new theme. Contestants from all over America are going to be competing for the title and the $100,000 grand prize, but more than that, there is a serious pride contest going on, as well. Masters are going to be facing off against former apprentices, and this is a chance to really see whether or not the teacher or the student now is truly the best. We don’t exactly foresee a season here where the masters come out and clean house. Wouldn’t that be a little boring? Just a prediction that things will get crazy.

In the sneak peek below, you can see what amounts to the introduction to the season as the contestants gather at the top of the One World Trade Center to be introduced to the competition. We learn a little bit about the masters / apprentices twist, and then two other valuable pieces of information are unveiled:

1. As it turns out, Craig Foster from season 3 is back to earn a little bit of redemption, continuing along the recent theme of having at least one returning competitor in recent seasons.

2. The very first challenge of this season is going to pair up the masters and the apprentices right away. Therefore, there is no easing into this competition at all. Would we really want it any other way?
