‘The Last Ship’ season 2: Eric Dane describes ‘bigger’ feel

Last Ship -Sunday night marks the season 2 premiere of “The Last Ship,” and to help to prepare you for it all the further, star Eric Dane took part in a far-reaching Reddit AMA on Monday. A variety of different topics were covered, and you can check out more of it over at the link here. A good chunk of it really does not translate well to the context of an article.

For those of you who are wanting a really great general take on the scope of the second season, look no further than a really great answer from Dane all about it:

“The second season is a lot bigger. There’s 3 more episodes – it’s 13 episodes this season – the antagonists are greater, the scope of the project is bigger, the writers have found their groove, the other actors have found a real rhythm, the characters are developing nicely and organically. And there’s a lot of comfort in the work. And I think that translates into an effortless viewing experience.”

In general, Dane sounds especially proud of the new season, which will present Chandler and company with many more struggles after seeing so many people out. So far, nothing has gone accordingly to plan per se … but there are some still surviving, and they will have to figure out the right way in order to do so.

As Dane mentions, though, there will be challenges that are far greater than anything we’ve seen on the show just yet. To quote a certain movie, sometimes there are those out there who would rather see the world burn than have anything good happen in it.
