Seth MacFarlane uses ‘Family Guy’ characters to sing Cyndi Lauper hits on ‘Graham Norton’
Are Seth MacFarlane’s true colors shining through? We’re not sure that we’d get that deep with it, but we can at least say that the “Family Guy” creator has yet again showed both the talent and the willingness to sing just about everything as his iconic characters.
In promotion of his upcoming movie “Ted 2” the comedy mogul-of-sorts was on “Graham Norton” this weekend, and while sitting down with Cyndi Lauper Graham had him perform two of her signature songs as his iconic characters. First, he performed “Time After Time” as Stewie, and then went into “True Colors” as Peter. The end results of this are about as funny as you would hope, which is to say that for the most part, this is pretty darn funny. Seth proves yet again that he is game for anything, and there is something very odd about watching Stewie’s voice actually come out of his mouth, even if we do know that he voices the character anytime that we actually watch the comedy.
MacFarlane better be ready for a crazy battle at the box office when “Ted 2” premieres, mostly because we’ve just witnessed some domination courtesy of “Jurassic World,” which has at least a slight chance to defeat Marvel’s “The Avengers” for the best opening weekend of any film in box-office history. We’ll see what happens there.
As for “Family Guy,” of course there will be a new season of that show premiering on Fox a little bit later in the fall. If there is anything major worth reporting (sometimes “Family Guy” storylines are not the most newsworthy), we will have it for you here. Stay tuned!
