‘Scorpion’ season 2: While you wait, watch Katharine McPhee’s new music video!

While at the moment Katharine McPhee may be best known as a cast member on CBS’ “Scorpion,” before that she was of course known as a contestant on “American Idol” who made it all the way to second place during the fifth season. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before we got a chance to see her dive back into music again!

If you look below, you can see the new music video released by McPhee to “Lick My Lips,” her brand-new single that has a decidedly retro feel to it. The video in some ways echoes the themes of the song, and it is a nice slice of summer fun. Clearly, the release date here is intentional. We are in the position now where every song out there wants to get that coveted title of “song of the summer,” and Katharine would love to have that.

For those who are a little curious as to the future of “Scorpion,” the show was renewed long ago for a second season! It will commence filming a little bit later this summer, and it will premiere most likely near the end of September. The cliffhanger we were left off with involved to a certain extent McPhee’s Paige and the status of her and Walter.

Will we see her use her musical talents more on the show? Given what the producers have at their disposal here, we would be surprised if they don’t use them more than they have already.
