‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Leaked cast not accurate, per Sarah Paulson

If you remember a little while back, there was a supposed cast list for the upcoming “American Horror Story: Hotel” season that had a whole variety of insane names featured on it. Of course, you know already about the likes of Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, and returning favorites like Evan Peters and Kathy Bates, there were also names like Michelle Pfeiffer and Alexander Skarsgard going around for a while.

We never reported on that cast list (which also included characters for most of the actors), mostly because so much of it seemed to be so completely over the top beyond words. Now, we’ve got more or less some confirmation that this is true, as Sarah Paulson told TheWrap recently that the rumor out there about her character is not even close to being accurate:

“I’ve never played any villain on the show, so perhaps there’s going to be an element on bad, bad girl … Here’s the only thing I can give you … I am not playing Janis Joplin. I would love that, that would be amazing, but no, I am not doing that.”

We are just happy with the idea of Paulson being a potential villain, period. Sure, we have enjoyed her being everyone from Lana Winters to Bette and Dot on the show, but why not get a chance to walk on the dark side, and show off something completely different from what we have seen from her already? We imagine that it may still be many weeks before we actually start to get all of the answers.
