‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 3: Are Andre Braugher, Chelsea Peretti leaving?
Tonight’s season 2 finale of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was full of a number of surprising moves and decisions. At the top of them all was the move by Captain Holt to leave the Nine-Nine rather than subject the rest of his employees to Wunch, who continued to have an axe to grind and is as interested as ever in making the life of her longtime nemesis into a living hell. To go along with Holt, Gina also decided that she was going to be departing the precinct already to continue working with him.
Does this means mean the end of either Andre Braugher or Chelsea Peretti on the series? It does not seem like it at the moment, at least based on what executive producer Dan Goor tells the Hollywood Reporter:
“If we got rid of them, Fox would have the right to call the police, handcuff us, and throw us off of cliffs. They are critical, wonderful cast members who are incredibly funny. They are still regulars and we will be following them. The idea behind Gina going with Holt was to make it as clear as possible that Holt was not leaving the show, but they will be leaving the Nine-Nine for the beginning of the season. You’ll see a new captain of the Nine-Nine and you’ll see Holt and Gina in their new job.”
For those wondering, there is no immediate word just yet on who will end up being the replacement for these two characters, or when they will be rejoining the cast. We see this in a way similar to when we saw Ben in Washington on “Parks and Recreation.”

I love the current cast of Brooklyn 99, and I hope we don’t lose any members permanently. They all jell so well together, and the thought of someone leaving the show is terrible.
I can’t wait to see who they introduce as the next Captain of the 99, but it certainly will be a challenge to replace Andre Braugher. Who knows, maybe he is the unknown person about to step out of the elevator and into the 99. Maybe, this was all just a cruel teaser to make me miserable until the start of season 3! CAN’T WAIT!!!!!

A much better example would be Jim going to the Stanford branch season 3 of the office. The show followed him there. He eventually rejoined the cast later in the season.
