‘Ink Master’ season 6: Masters vs Apprentices spotlight: Earl Noble vs Dave Clarke
Dave Clarke said in his introduction video (which you can see below) that he and his mentor, Earl Noble, are more like brothers then Master and Apprentice since they have a very close friendship, but squabble like siblings. This makes these two very intriguing to us on this season of “Ink Master” since we’ve only had one pair of siblings on the show ever (Robbie and Jayvo) and their dynamic brought something really special to the series.
Even though Dave and Earl aren’t actual brothers, we wonder if they can find a way to bring that same kind of tension and respect back to our TV’s this season. Can Dave and his epic mustache beat out his mentor or is Earl going to school him in the art of tattooing?
The Master: Earl Noble
Tattooing: He has been 10 years and is an artist at Black Amethyst Tattoo Gallery in Saint Petersburg, FL. One of his specialties is morphing images together that wouldn’t normally go together… he makes this look easy and it really isn’t.

The Apprentice: Dave Clarke
Tattooing: He has also been tattooing for 10 years and is an artist at Sacred-X-Pression in Fort Walton Beach , FL. Dave like to blend new school and traditional, which is something cool we haven’t seen a lot of on this show and with Earl being his mentor (and also blending a lot of images together) it’s not too surprising to see that Dave may have been inspired by that.

Earl vs Dave: We really like the relationship these two have, because they are respectful of each other, but recognizes that each of them are both very talented and it helps to drive them both to be even better then they are. Don’t we all need someone like that in our lives to kick our butts? Dave feels that the student should always surpass the teacher and we have to agree: If a teacher is really solid and gives their student all of the tools to be the best they can and they use those tools to push harder, then they really should end up being better then their teacher. We do have to wonder though, if Earl and Dave have both been tattooing for ten years then how is one the other’s apprentice if they started at the same time?
How well do you think that Earl and Dave will do in the “Ink Master” competition this season and do you think either of them will win the title? Leave us your thoughts in the comment box below.
