‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5, episode 23 preview: Kono’s life-or-death drama

We already know that Friday night’s new episode of “Hawaii Five-0” stands out, and there is almost no other way to interpret it after looking at the video promo below. This is not a story seemingly revolving around much of a crime at all; instead, it feels almost like one of the classic stories of survival that you read about in some of those young-adult adventure books. Kono will be out retracing some of her history at sea when some unfortunate circumstances strike, and she finds herself stranded.

The visuals in the video below are definitely impressive, since it gives you a sense of just how much anger she is in, and also how isolated she is at sea. This is not some easy situation for her to escape from, and she is going to struggle mightily to get out of this. Eventually, she is going to have some help from the team, but will they come to her in time?

While we want to believe that Kono will survive given that there are plans for her wedding still ahead, there is really no confirmation of anything at the moment. All we know is that it feels almost like the Red Wedding of characters on network TV right now, given what has already happened on “Grey’s Anatomy” and the rumors surrounding an important character being killed off on “NCIS” at some point during the final two episodes of this season.
