‘Arrow’ season 3 debate: Should Damien Darhk be season 4 big bad?

More scoop -At this point, you should be very much aware that “Arrow” does like to plant some of its big bads within its episodes in a way that we do not tend to see on other places. For example, we got to know Slade Wilson well before season 2, and while we never saw Ra’s al Ghul in the flesh prior to the third season, we at least knew that he was out there given the fact that we already were getting to know his daughter Nyssa and the League of Assassins.

We have come to know the organization HIVE in many ways since the very first season, but last night’s episode “Al Sah-Him” was the first time that we have heard the name Damien Darhk mentioned specifically on the show. He is a person very familiar with this organization, with Ra’s al Ghul, and who also has some connection to Diggle mythology to go along with it.

Should he be the big bad for season 4? While we’re sure that he will not be the only villain (we feel like Queen Bee would be a must given the situation), there’s a good argument to make for him being it. The biggest thing to us is the Diggle side of the equation. All of the big bads so far have specifically targeted Oliver Queen as their main adversary, and it would be nice to see a slight shakeup to that formula. We still don’t know everything when it comes to the hit on Diggle’s brother, and there’s a lot of material to be mined from that.

Also, he’s another intellectual opponent like Ra’s al Ghul, except that he may be in some ways more definitively evil. The thing that makes Ra’s scary is that he genuinely believes that his actions are just, and certainly does not see himself as villain.

We’ve got a poll attached to the bottom of this article for one simple purpose: We want to know what you have to say about this!
