‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ preview: Will Dan’s advantage change the game?

Dan -When you are playing “Survivor,” you always want to count the numbers in any possible. Everyone had started to figure out a way to read how things go at the final eight … or at least they did over the past several seasons. The Vote Doubler as a twist changes things. Now, you really just need four people plus the extra vote to make a move on another more.

For someone like Dan or potentially even Sierra, this could change things. For example, if they are fifth and sixth in a group with Tyler, Carolyn, Rodney, and Will, it makes more sense for them to jump over to Mike and Shirin … provided that they have confidence they can beat them, and provided that they know where they stand in the other group. To this point, CBS is being very coy with showing how this story is going to play out, save for Tyler going through Dan’s bag and reading just what the advantage ultimately is.

Clearly, production must have wanted some drama with this twist. Why in the world would you make it come in the most obnoxiously-huge packaging possible?

For the sake of crazy television, we of course would love to see Dan and Shirin just ship. For one, watching Dan “flippers never win” eating crow would be hilarious, as would be Shirin getting some power over him again after he was so terrible to her earlier on in the season. We know that there has been a ton of controversy over Will’s outburst, and to us, there would be nothing sweeter than seeing her rally together a new alliance and get rid of the guy who publicly tormented her in a terrible way.
