‘Britain’s Got Talent’ defends Henry Gallagher over guitar controversy

More news -We understand at this point why the cool thing these days is being extremely cynical about reality TV. After all, we have been duped so many times with false editing that it is easy to suggest that there are some shenanigans anytime that you have someone emerge out of nowhere on a show like “Britain’s Got Talent.” After all, we’ve learned many times before that there have been contestants with past history performing on TV, or have already found success in some other way and that they are not really unknown.

So what was the latest conspiracy theory when it comes to the ITV series? It all is tied into the performance of Henry Gallagher, the young contestant who wrote and performed an original song on this weekend’s episode of the show. There was strong suspicion on social media that the entire performance was doctored, mostly because of the way that it appeared that his cap moved on its own during the middle of the song.

Was there really any such shenanigans going on in the performance? Far from it. As the show confirmed per the Mirror after the fact, this was really just the result of editing turning away from Gallagher at the time that he moved it:

“Henry performed his song only once during his audition and sang and played his guitar live, moving the capo mid song while singing flawlessly.”

What this does confirm to us is ultimately rather simple: Sometimes, a really talented kid singing and playing the guitar is actually a really talented kid singing and playing guitar. There isn’t always an added motive to it.
