‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 11 preview: Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks take on ‘Time & Life’
“Don has a huge idea. Roger wants Joan to help him deal with a clerical mistake.” This is what AMC gave us this week in their ever-expanding battle to give us as little information as humanly possible regarding “Mad Men.” The network and executive producer Matthew Weiner are notoriously secretive, and they will keep it that way now until the bitter end.
So what can Don’s “huge idea” really be? It obviously has to be something career-based, since his ideas when it come to women for the most part seem to be doing the same thing over and over again, even when it does bring about his own self-destruction. Diana has been something and someone knew for him, but who knows where this story is going to go from here?
As for what else we can expect to see in the episode, we’ll be glad about any story that puts Christina Hendricks in the spotlight. Joan has not been highlighted particularly strongly in the first three episodes, but we feel that she is one of many deserving of a moment or two in the sun. What her endgame means is a huge part of the show’s fabric, just as it is with Roger, Peggy, or Pete.
Now, the scariest news of all: There are only four episodes left in the entire series. We have a hard time imagining a full year without “Mad Men” on TV, but we have to start getting prepared for it now.
