‘Masters of Sex’ season 3 spoilers: Meet (the older) Tessa

Typically when you see characters recast on a TV show, the biggest reason for it is that the previous actor left for some reason. However, in the case of “Masters of Sex” season 3, it is simply a matter of timing. The show is leaping forward a good five years to 1966, and that means that the young actors playing Virginia Johnson’s kids are simply too young for the parts now.

With that in mind, we are pleased to introduce you to at least one of the new actors coming aboard the show. According to a report from Deadline, Isabelle Fuhrman (“The Hunger Games”) has been brought on recur on the Showtime series as Virginia’s daughter Tessa, who is definitely at a much more difficult point in her life than she was when we last saw her. Kayla Madison previously took on this part in the first two seasons.

When the series picks back up this summer, you are going to see both Johnson and William Masters in a far different place in their lives than when we last saw them. While through the first two seasons they had a near-impossible time trying to convince the scientific / medical community to take them seriously, they are now in many ways superstars. Their work is being taken seriously, and given that we are now at a time when people much more sexually liberated, many are listening to what they have to say.

Of course, sometimes with greater fame comes greater complication, so their journey moving forward is going to be a far from peaceful one. There are a variety of other problems that come with celebrity, and they are going to have to navigate their way through most of them.
