‘Scorpion’ episode 21 preview: Secrets arrive as finale event begins

Based on the fact that “Cliffhanger” is the title for Monday night’s new episode of “Scorpion,” we have to go ahead and assume that this is not just the show making a clever reference at “The Price Is Right.” Instead, we are probably getting the first part of an epic two-part finale that will change the entire team forever.

The majority of the plot for this episode could ultimately boil down to one key question: What does Walter not know about the team? What is being kept from him? Gallo decides that it is time to share in the promo below, and the consequences are not exactly the best. To make matters worse, the team also has to unite to take on a toxic trial involving a gas leak, which could leave countless people dead unless they intervene.

We already have learned throughout the series that this team can take on external challenges; therefore, what we are hoping to see here is something more internal, something that makes every member question themselves and why they are doing this. We do not envision a situation where the team breaks up, given that there is already another season on deck at CBS. Still, there is a way to raise the stakes and make each one of them realize that there are still better ways for them to operate.

A great analogy here is that of asuperhero. Every hero has a reason why they do things. Is it for the glory, is it to protect those they love, or is it because no one else can do the job? In a way, these people are heroes in their own right. They just don’t have the capes.
