ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: ‘CSI’ actor joins Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion in finale
Want to know more news on the “Castle” finale? You’re not the only one. Given the uncertain future of the series right now, showrunner David Amann and the entire staff is in total hush-hush mode. It has to be a strange experience making this without knowing the state of Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion’s contracts, which seem to be one of the sticking points to the show getting another year on the air.
Will some casting news help to ease the pain of waiting? Probably not, but we have to at least give it a shot. According to TVLine, “CSI” actor Wallace Langham is going to be playing a role in the episode … and that is more or less everything we know. Frustrating for sure, but a clear indication of just how coy ABC and the show’s producers are being.
What we would assume for now is that this will be a huge, action-packed mystery that touches on important stuff for both Castle and Beckett, and they will do their best to give the season a fitting end. Given the uncertain future, we would not be shocked if an enormous cliffhanger was abandoned in favor of something that ties at least a few stories together. For example, we’d be surprised if the season ends without a little more information on what happened to Castle during his months away.
Hopefully, we’ll get some answers on the contracts before the episode airs. We’re reasonably confident that a deal will get done, but the longer the wait goes, the more anxious we become.

I would really like to see it for one more season, I would like to see a new baby between the two of them. I woud like to see everything put to rest and then end the show. I would love to see for years to come but I know it cann’t go on for ever and ever.

After Nathan’s post on Twitter saying, “It’s been an incredible run, but now onto Conman”. Then Stana’s post on Instagram of a picture of the writers & thanking them for all they have done & both Stana’s & Seamus Dever’s pictures on Facebook with Stana alone in the darkened Precinct room & Seamus saying, “Last night in the precinct”, what does that say? Filming the rest of last episode on location. I would have liked them to go on for at least a couple years. Going to miss it as it was the only one I made a point of watching. Had a little bit of everything.

I just wish they would make up their minds and drop all the damn drama! It is driving me nuts! Personally I hope it continues with them both for at least another year. If they quit now they are apt to lose the fan-base they have built up due to all the damn drama of waiting!

They may get it done, but her own words seem to indicate that she is done with CASTLE, and wants to get on with her career..

I would agree except with contract and salary negotiation underway it could very well be a ploy to threaten leaving unless salary offers go higher.
With regard to the guest stars I am sure that they will be excellent as they have been in the past.
What I would like to know is:
1. When will shooting for 8×01 have to start for both a 23 episode series and for one starting after Christmas as they did as a replacement in season one.
2. Do cast members do any discussion among themselves while negotiating or is it one on one with the network?
3. We have not heard anything regarding Castle’s negotiations, views on a season 8, etc. does he already have a contract? How likely is it that contracts have already been signed by everyone and all the ongoing discussion is just hoopla to keep fans biting their fingernails?
There are other questions similar to these that could be discussed but if everything is under wraps no one will venture to do so without permission from the network.

All we know is what we read–there have been no announcements as you indicate. Both she and Nathan have given indications that this is the end–a tweet from him yesterday did the same thing that Stana’s Instagrams seemed to do–it may all have been just as you said–to put pressure on the network–but those things seem to backfire–sorta like what AWM did with and after 623 last year–the loss of over a million fans after 623 because of what I consider to be arrogance on his part has put the program on a lower scale and less ‘renewable’ than it was before, IMHO. This is the first year that there has been only one episode which drew over 10 Million viewers directly–other years there were many episodes. We should know for sure on 11 May based upon just how they end 723. And we’ll have some indication on 12 May in the UpFront meeting announcements from ABC.

Mr. Fillions tweet yesterday about the great run coming to an end was not about “Castle” but referring to the fact that the fund raising for his and his buddy’s con project was ending in the next day or two. As for Ms. Katic she merely said if they ran out of places to go with the characters on Castle they should end it but that if they had more avenues to go ahead with the character developement then it would be a go! And by the way that was said in response to an interview question in November 2014!!
If I were either of them I would be so sick of so called fans harping about their every move or comment I would probably be happy to get away from all the drama! But it’s not created by them!! it’s created by people who either want to get visits to their sights or so called fans who can’t seem to understand simple comments/.
