‘Saturday Night Live’: ‘Empire’s’ Taraji P. Henson prepared to host

Just in case you just found out the news about the host for next week’s “Saturday Night Live” episode tonight, here it is for you again: Taraji P. Henson is putting a little bit of “Empire” into the show! Her role as Cookie has turned her into a household name, and this is the sort of honor that tends to come with that.

Is she ready for the pressure, and also the fun? It seems like it. She is trained in theater, and at least knows how to handle the difficult parts of performing live. As for the pressure, it does not even seem like she is thinking about it. Just take a look at what she said to E! News in a new interview leading up to the show:

“I have to treat it like another job or I will get up there and choke … I know it’s incredible. I’m so honored and amazed to even be on it. I know legends do Saturday Night Live. I get all of it, but in my mind, to keep my cool, I have to look at it like’s it’s just another job.”

If there is a bit of advice we can give Taraji going into this show, it is simply to be game for almost anything. This show will have you doing some crazy things, so being ready for that is a huge part of what makes a good host. They are probably going to ask her to spoof “Empire” in some way, in addition to maybe some of her other work.
