‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 finale spoilers: Lauren Cohan front and center in new sneak peek

Are we about see Rick Grimes booted out of Alexandria on “The Walking Dead“? This is something that is at the center of the latest sneak peek for the finale, which focuses heavily on Maggie doing everything that she can to plead his case to Deanna after that shockingly violent scenario with the gun this past week.

In this video, the best defense that Lauren Cohan’s character can muster here is that he is emotional, and some of the people in this community have no real idea some of what Rick has gone through since waking up for that coma. Let’s just say that involves death … lots of death. Deanna doesn’t seem that sympathetic towards his plight, mostly because she uses Maggie’s own story against her. Specifically, she reminds her that for every bad thing that Rick has gone through over the years, she has managed to go through just as much if not more. Yet, she is not pointing guns at people.

In the end, Deanna says that she will have to make the decision that she ultimately feels is right, which is for her the same exact thing that she has been doing since the very beginning of her time leading the town.

Now that we know this, what is Maggie going to feel the need to do for the sake of her group leader? We’ve wondered for weeks if Rick and company could stage a coup, and this is one of the biggest reasons why they could think about it. They have the skills to easily overtake most of Alexandria; the real question here is whether or not they have the humanity to turn off that urge to kill.
