Bill O’Reilly to return to ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ after controversy

If there is one late-night show we would be almost afraid of going on after stirring up some headlines, it would be “The Late Show with David Letterman.” In case you are wondering why, it’s not that hard to come up with reasons. For one, this is not a man who is going to avoid a topic of conversation that you find uncomfortable. Not only that, but if he knows you find it uncomfortable, he will harp on it to the ends of the earth. His interviews with Justin Bieber and Paris Hilton are two great examples of that.

With all of this being said, we’re surprised that Bill O’Reilly has decided to come on the show Tuesday (even if he has many times before) to primarily promote the premiere of “Killing Jesus,” the latest NatGeo adaptation of one of his books. Letterman will almost surely ask about claims that O’Reilly exaggerated stories that took place early in his journalism career, which was something that was fired at him not long after the Brian Williams scandal picked up steam.

To be fair, O’Reilly has staunchly denied the claims already on Fox News, and this story has been mostly perpetuated by the media and has died down a little bit.

We’re not going to go into politics here at all, mostly because that is not the sort of site we are and that seems like a massive can of worms. From an entertainment perspective, we tend to find O’Reilly interviews on late-night shows entertaining, mostly because there seems to be an equal amount of rabble-rousing that takes place. It’s almost as though O’Reilly knows full well the perception of him and his network from those who do not share the same views. With this, we imagine that this will be an interesting episode to watch.
