‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 finale spoilers: Creator on nature of big ‘A’ reveal
When you create a ton of hype around an episode, the one thing that comes with that are enormous expectations. Let’s just hope that “Pretty Little Liars” creator Marlene King is ready for what could be coming her way after Tuesday night’s season 5 finale airs.
Throughout the past week, ABC Family has been very busy promoting this episode as containing a #BigAReveal, which is something that should not be taken lightly. However, we understand skepticism, given that some of the other reveals may not have done as much for fans as they would have hoped. Are we actually going to learn who “A” is at the end of the episode? Based on what King tells TVLine in a new interview, the answer to this could be yes … but also no at the same time. Let’s just say that it is as complicated as a Facebook status:
“In a certain way, you will know who ‘A’ is by the end of the episode … I don’t want fans to feel like, ‘Oh, they’re just being dodgy again.’ We’re not. You will get a very big piece of the puzzle. It’s like I’ve said all along: The who is important, but the why and the how are also important. You will be left with a question to answer, but you will also be on the path to 100-percent discovery. It’s, by far, the biggest reveal we’ve ever done in an episode, and it’s done in a way that’s just so beautiful.”
By the end of the episode, the one thing that we’re mostly just hoping for is our jaw on the floor. If that happens, then we honestly do not care so much if we see the big twist coming. All we know is that “A” really should be someone deeply rooted into the show’s mythology, and it should also make sense. We understand the idea of having it be one of the Liars, but how bipolar would they need to be to pull that off?
