‘Battle Creek’ episode 5 preview: An unknown arsonist in ‘Old Flames’
Tonight, we feel for many fans of “Battle Creek” who are already going through a pretty hard time as it is trying to ensure that this show stays on the air. After all, it was delayed first and foremost by College Basketball, and then it did not even come on the air until after 10:30. When you consider that this is a show that is just trying to do whatever it can at the moment to survive, that’s a tough hurdle to overcome.
If nothing else, at least next week’s episode “Old Flames” definitely sounds exciting! You can see the official synopsis for it below, and it includes a number of pretty important details regarding a home going up in flames, and also an investigation into arson that sends both Russ and Milt into a frenzy. Take a look at the synopsis below:
“After Commander Guziewicz narrowly escapes when her home is burned down, the arson investigation leads Russ and Milt to a variety of suspects, including a string of ex-lovers and her own estranged son. Also, Russ is determined to find out who sent Holly a gift.”
These two are in the process of forming a better partnership on the force, but the truth here is that they are still a long ways off from figuring it out entirely. Some of the drama in this episode will be, in addition to figuring out what happened to the commander, dealing with the ever-present personality conflicts.

Battle Creek isn’t getting a fair shake here with being placed after basketball games that almost always ensure that we people who have to go in early Monday won’t catch the last few minutes (or half-hour) although we diligently try to capture it with our DVRs.
