‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ rankings: Jenn Brown, Hali Ford, Will Sims II rule new Nagarote
Now that we’ve hit the tribe swap on “Survivor: Worlds Apart,” this primarily means one thing: We have to start actually referring to the tribes by their real names and not just “Blue Collar,” “White Collar,” or “No Collar.” It also means that we’re starting to get a better sense as to who is a good player this season, and whose past mistakes can come back to haunt them soon.
When it comes to the new Nagarote, the No Collars who originally called this beach home are in a very good spot now thanks to mostly one person: Carolyn. She shifted the balance of power by turning on her old tribe, and her move could have many ramifications down the road. Moving into Wednesday’s episode, though, it feels pretty cut-and-dry pending a major change … just as it also feels obvious that this tribe is going to lose again. They not only lack most of the strong men, but the only woman on Escameca in Sierra happens to be quite possibly the strongest one this season.
6. Shirin Oskooi – We appreciate Shirin’s passion for the game deeply, but what she lacks is self-awareness. You need to understand certain social cues, and she and Max completely missed the boat. Pending a Hail Mary, things are not looking good for her going into this upcoming episode.
5. Kelly Remington – We have a feeling that Kelly’s probably going to be fine until the merge, but there is at least one argument Shirin can make to get rid of her: Send her home, mostly to ensure that she cannot rejoin the rest of her Blue Collar tribe at the merge.
4. Carolyn Rivera – The only reason we’re ranking her at four over five is because of the immunity idol. The truth here is that while she may have felt personally very satisfied over getting rid of Max, we’re not sure turning on her alliance is something that she wants out there. Does she think that Shirin will stay quiet about that?
3. Will Sims II – All of a sudden, Will is in a pretty tremendous position in the game! All he has to do is survive one more tribal council, and he’s at the merge, where nobody is going to target him as a threat. We’re not sure he has a winner’s resume right now given that he doesn’t have the complete trust of Joe anymore, but he feels fairly long for the game if he can just lay low.
2. Hali Ford – We go back and forth on which one of these two women we like better to win. While Hali seems to be playing a very good social game, as of right now we’re not sure she’s getting the same strategic edit as her primary alliance partner.
1. Jenn Brown – There’s really not much that needs to be said here about her in-game excellency right now. She’s playing the game without looking like she is, and she’s got an immunity idol nobody seems to know about. She can use it on her, or to protect her allies if need be. Out of her alliance, she now has the best shot of winning.
